1. 2006 the recent traffic state: The road to Jolmo Lungma(Mt.everest) is in course of construction. The road from Lazi to Dingri was closed on 19th, May, and was opened at 8:00 pm. After 1st, May, the road from Yangdroyomtso to Jiangzi is closed. The road to Sajia temple to in course of construction, so the journey from Sajia temple to Jolmo Lungma will be influenced. Some parts of the road in Tibet are in construction for maintenance, however, the journey will not be influenced.
2. The train way will be opened on 1st, July. The first schedules are: Beijing - Lasa, Chengdu - Lasa, Shanghai - Lasa, Guangzhou - Lasa, Xining - Lasa. The trains from ShangHai and GuangZhou will be drived every two days, and after congregating at XiNing, there will be 4 trains driving to Lasa every 15-20 mins. There are around 4000 people going into Tibet every day.
3. The gas prices of class 90# in Tibet are as follows: Lasa: 5.35rmb/L, Ali:10 - 15 rmb/L.
4. In the year 2006, the ticket for Namtso will rise to 100rmb/person, the travelling shuttle will cost 15 rmb/person.
5. This year is the Fire Dog year in Tibet calendar. In the XueDun Festival, the Potala Palace will celebrate the 晒佛（to expose the big tangka which paited big buddha to the sun） which is celebrated every twenty years.
6. The construction for Ningchi airport is done and hopefully it will be in use in the next two years.
7. Summer temperature in Tibet is low and some area in Tibet would be dry, however, the air humidity in the upper air is still high. Compare with India and
Pakistan, Tibet is in the high air humidity in summer. The precipitation process in summer is long, however, the precipitation strength is not high. Except Ningchi, most area only have less than 50mm precipitation in the day time. The rain usually come during the night. The highest temperature in Tibet will not be higher than 31 ℃. The white cloud and the blue sky are the famous sceneries in Tibet.
