Located in the Wolong National Nature Reserve, the Panda Valley is the only place to trace wild pandas and carry out scientific surveys in the world. It is 3.2km in length and 2,050-2,800m above sea level. With abundant wildlife resources, the valley is a paradise for rare wildlife, such as wild giant panda, golden monkey, red panda, and Minjiang fir. Thousands of years' plate movement leads to complicate and diversified landforms as well as beautiful natural landscape in the Panda Valley. It is the first place in the world for humans to scientifically observe and research wild giant pandas, which has been endowed with a special and significant connotation. The well-reserved ancient wildlife ecosystem, high reputation as the world’s precious wildlife scientific survey and ecological education resources in the domain of international ecological & environmental protection make the panda valley a rare tourist attraction to trace wild giant pandas and appreciate the beauty of nature.
In order to protect this holy place, special permission is required for people to enter the valley. The number of persons entering the valley will be strictly limited per day. Scientific expedition within the wild panda tracing area will be under the guidance of our experts. In the valley, ecological sanitation toilets adopting modern separate cleaning technology are provided and intelligent automatic monitoring system and other environmental protection devices are installed. No dustbin is provided in the whole scenic area and visitors must dispose of their garbage in a special “Panda Bag”.

This is the starting point and “service station” for your wild panda tracing experience. It , where provides reception, ticketing，ticket booking, tour guide, bar, , and safety education and other services are provided. It also provides the scientific expedition participants with outdoor articles, exploration equipment, first-aid articles, and observing observation devices. You can choose your favorite articles according to your need to their own needs.
Alpine gorge experiencing area
The extraordinary landform displays the supernatural extraordinary power of the nature. Centuries-old volcanic magma tracks tell about the stories of ancient great change since ancient times. Originally, this was a wide and flat virgin forest. Due to the glacier movement and rock collision and deposits in the Quaternary Period, a V-shaped valley took shape. It , which prevented the onrushing cold currents and protected wildlife, giant pandas and other wildlife included, on this land.
The David Pavilion was built to commemorate David, a French missionary who found the first-ever living panda in the world and made great contribution to giant panda research and biology. At that time, people called giant panda “black & white bear”.
Plank Ways
Plank ways in the Panda Valley wind their way against mountains and waters, connecting the tunnels at the opposite side to form a loop route around the mountain. They provide a shortcut
Water Purification Pool
At the south side of Pioneer Cave are two small pools, with drinking water pool at the upper part and hand washing pool at the lower part. Filtrated in rock and gravel layers, the water in panda valley is natural and clean, with rich minerals. It tastes sweet and refreshing.
Pan Pan Bridge:
Pan Pan was the famous mascot of Beijing Asian Games. In 1998, Pan Pan donated his somatic cell for panda clone. This cable bridge was named after him. At the opposite site of the bridge is a plank way leaning against the mountain. it goes through the valley and passes by waterfalls and steams. You will have an extraordinary experience walking on it.
Xiang Xiang Pavilion:
On the morning of April 28, 2006, Xiang Xiang, a captive giant panda in Wolong returned to the wild after nearly three years' training. This was a milestone in the panda protection history. It would surely produce significant influence at home and abroad. Though Xiang Xiang has returned to the wild, his friendship with human kind remains. The Xiang Xiang Pavilion expresses people's missing and good wishes to Xiang Xiang. Here you can also have a rest and enjoy mountain waterfalls.

Alpine gorge experiencing area
sudden head-turn Stone:
when you pass by the stone and turn your head back, you will feel frightened at the possible dangers around you.. The huge stone blends harmoniously into the surrounding landscape.
Mother's Tears
there are two lines of spring water flowing down the stone cliff on the opposite side. Here you can also hear a touching panda story.
Sky-touch:
The giant stone supported by wood bars on the right means “indomitable spirit” in Buddhism. You may pray for blessings here. But Do not break tree branches for support..
Jing Jing Bridge:
The panda Jing Jing looks simple and honest. But she is optimistic and full of strength inside. She is one of the five mascots of 2008 Beijing Olympic Games. She comes from the spacious forest, symbolizing the harmony and coexistence between human kind and nature. She will bring happiness and good wishes to the mankind.
Water Curtain Cave:
The Water curtain cave is a base of giant pandas. This cave crosses the impounded area. Water drips from top of the cave, like a curtain of rain. Therefore, workers from Forest Administration Bureau named it “water curtain cave”.
Golden Monkey Attraction Area
More than one hundred wild golden monkeys are living in this area. They coexist with giant pandas peacefully.
Shelter
Built in the 1960s, the shelter is 1.8km away from the entrance of the panda valley. Formerly, it was the dorm of lumbermen from Hongqi Forest Administration Bureau. In order to protect giant pandas, the bureau stopped felling trees and moved out of Wolong Nature Reserve in the 1970s. Since then, this place has become a residence for researchers of the Panda Observation Station. On the basis of keeping the original appearance, it is rebuilt and used as a tourist service station providing ecological food and beverage, medical service, souvenirs , and camping articles (for sale or rent).
Wild panda tracing area
The wild panda-tracing area covers 450mu, where you can observe semi-domesticated wild pandas under the guidance of our professionals. Located right on the opposite side of the world-renowned Wuyipeng is the holy place in the eyes of many panda experts and panda lovers.
