Wannian Temple
The Wannian temple, an important temple of Mt. Emei, is a major historical site designated for state protection. It was first constructed in the Jin Dynasty dated back to two thousand years ago. During the Ming Dynasty, a pillar-less brick hall was constructed in the temple. The hall has experienced earthquakes 18 times but remains safe and sound. It really is a wonder in Chinese architectural history. In the temple, there is a statue of the god of Universal Benevolence mounting a white elephant. The statue, made of bronze with 7.3 meters high and 62 tons, was molded in the Song Dynasty dated back one thousand years ago and really is a valuable state treasure.
