The Chinese Restaurant located at level 2 of China Travel Hotel serves both local and Chinese Food. As we travel in group, our packaged dinner is always a feast of over ten dishes. There are soup, noodles, eggs, vegetables, fried eggs at every meal. After eating almost the same dishes for 8 days, you really have cravings for your home cooked food, fast food and local hawker dishes.

the restaurant is walking distance from Sheraton or the entrance, excellent food (better than what I had in Tibet), great atmosphere, wonderful people, read about this place on LP but the tel. # and address are now different so thank God for my PDA coz the useless concierge at Sheraton said he has never heard of the place despite having lived in Jiuzhaigou for years (I'm sorry to sound mean but after forking out RMB2000 a night you'd expect semi competent staff at this hotel) through google and baidu found the address & tel # this is a family owned restaurant with home made barley wine went there w/sis & dad and they both loved it as well address Bian Bian Jie 3-2F Zhang Zha District, Jiuzhaigou tel (0837) 7739169, 13547735504, 13551654270

Gesaeng Tibetan Resto at Intercontinental: Yummy authentic tibetan cuisine
Feeling a bit adventurous, we went for the Tibetan cuisine for dinner. It was a great choice. Food was excellent, spices were amazing, room decor was so unique. Barbequed pork ribs were soooo juicy and tender (pic1) deep fried cha-siu mushroom were too good (pic2) - we ordered the second plate plus a plate of stir-fried yak meat (pic3). This is a not-to-miss!

Hey, this is not a restaurant proper, it is a small eatery located between the Jiuzhaigou entrance and the carpark lot where all the tourists buses are parked daily. It is amongst the row of shops fronting the main road leading to Sheraton or where there are long-distance buses are parked. This eatery serves local fare which is homecooked and very delicious. Cooked by the owner himself or his sister. Don't be fooled by the appearances, there are only 4 tables. This place is frequented by the the locals there. They may not be able to speak a word of English but if you can just point to what u want, whether it is small dumpling or rice porridge freshly cooked daily in the morning or the other dishes on the menu, u will definitely enjoyed the meal for less than RMB5.00. Value for money yeah ! (btw, I did help them to translate the menu to English after much difficulty but hope u will get to use it!)
