Day 1. Chengdu-Songpan Lodge in Songpan
Departure at 8:00 am from Chengdu, drive along with the Jiuzai Valley route, pass through Dujian weir, Yinxiu, Wenchuan, Maoxian. The first sight in front of you would be the endless rurality of beautiful western Sichuan and country houses which surrounded by bamboos. Then, you would see Dujian Weir-the great ancient irrigation system in Chinese history. After then, you would go upward along with Min River which the grandness and spectacularity could be compared with Yellow River.
The following is enter the Aba area where Tibetan (Zang)Zang and Qiang nationalities living in. Aba is the only one living area of Qiang nationality besides Kangba Tibetan (Zang) and Jiarong Tibetan (Zang) nationality. Aba is well-known by its block-house, you could see a number of blockhouses and hanging bridges on the way. After Wenchuan, maoxian, you would pass the Dieqihaizi, then the ancient city-Songpan is not far from you. Songpan was being the important commercial and martial site from Tang dynasty. Besides its historical position, the attraction of Songpan, surely, is the beautiful nature. The guests from inside and outside of China are all like to ride house with local people to visit the nature of Xuebaoding, Munigou, the noises and troubles may all leave behind while walking along the green Haizi and the marvelous forest.
The total distance is 350 km and takes about 7 hours, the road condition is good. Lodge in Songpan at night.
Day 2-4 Songpan-Huanglong Riding horse, camp. Camp at night
Xuebaoding is the main peak of Minshan Maotain Chain, located in Songpan county with the sea attitude of 5,588 meter. Because of benn covered by snow all the year, it looks like a white giant so it got the name of Xuebaoding, its Tibetan name Xiaxiudongri means the eastern Mt. Hailuo. The importance is the holy mountain in many fairy tales among Zang, Qiang, Hui, Hang, etc. nationalities. The traveling bible is especially recommended Songpan as the best place to ride horse.
Day 5. Huanglong-Songpan (Chuanzhu monestery) Enjoy Xuebaoding in day time and back Songpan, Chuanzhu Monestery in the afternoon. Here you can enjoy local Gezhuang dance by Songpan Minyuangela Art Group. Lodge in Songpan
